Weight Pull
The sport of weight pull not only tests the physical strength of a dog, but the strength of the bond between human and canine. To qualify if competition, dogs must pull progressively heavier loads down a 16’ track within a specific time period, normally 60 seconds. This seems simple enough, but consider this: no bait, including food or toys, are allowed in the chute. In short: these powerful athletes pull to please. In recent years, the sport of weight pull has opened its doors to dogs of all sizes, from the tiniest toy poodle to the largest of Alaskan Malamutes.
At RF Revolution Dog Sports, our focus is on developing weight pull competitors utilizing positive reinforcement training methods. Starting September of 2010, we will be offering weekly training and practice sessions for dogs of all breeds and sizes on our dirt track in Northern Nevada.
