Intro to Rally Obedience

This four week session focuses on introducing teams to the sport of rally. This class is taught both on and off lead and dogs are crated when not working. This class includes rally course work and group exercises. Dogs should have a 30 second sit and down stay with mild distraction and loose leash walking.

Intro to Scent Work

Our dogs love to sniff and find things. In fact, dogs have such a great sense of smell that they are often used to locate illegal drugs, explosives, bed bugs, endangered species and even cancer. Scent sports such as Nosework and Barn Hunt aren’t just exciting competitive activities to enjoy with your dog, but they build confidence, focus and teamwork essential for all your favorite activities and a happy home life too. Plus, scent sports are just plain fun!
This six week class develops search drive and motivation to work, odor recognition and a clear focused response behavior. Our goal is a happy dog that will not only efficiently and methodically search for and identify target odors in a variety of environments and situations, but WANTS to work and play with their handler. There are no pre-requisites for this class. Dogs must be at least 12 weeks of age to participate.

This four week course meets once per week for 90 minutes and focuses on competition handling for Barn Hunt. This class further developers indications on more difficult hides while developing advanced handling strategy. Includes variable numbers of hides. This class is appropriate those individuals seeking to compete.

Dog Sport Foundations

This four week course is designed to develop confidence, focus, engagement, body awareness and foundation skills for dog sports of all sorts, including but definitely not limited to agility, obedience/rally, nosework, flyball, barn hunt, treiball, dock jumping and more using shaping, play and games. This class is appropriate for dogs 4 months and older whose handlers have aspirations of dog sports.

This four week session focuses on further developing intermediate and advanced skills for competition in the sport of rally. February 6: Perch Work

Not only does Perch Work teach build invaluable rear end awareness skills, it actually can be utilized to develop beautiful precision heeling. Whether you want to learn more about perch work or your team is looking to advance your perch work skills, join us for this one hour workshop!

February 13: Brain Games

Dogs don't just need physical exercise, they need mental exercise too! This workshop explores fun and challenging Brain Games for you and your dog.

February 27: Tricks 

Utilize your shaping and luring skills to learn fun tricks that are sure to be fun for both you and your dog. AKC Trick Dog testing is available at the conclusion of this workshop!

March 6: Playgility

This fun and low impact workshop introduces dogs and handlers to obstacles while building body awareness and confidence. This session is appropriate for puppies 16 weeks and older through senior dogs.

Does your dog struggle with well known behaviors in new places? Are you working toward increased focus when distractions are present for competition? Would you like a better recall or stay? Then this class might be for you. This four week class focuses on focus in the real world through games, play and of course, training. This class is held in various locations in the North Reno area.

Introduction/Beginning Barn Hunt

This four week course meets once per week for an hour and focuses on introducing dogs and handlers to the scent sport of Barn Hunt.

  • Pre-requisites: Dogs must be at least four months of age. Dogs of all ages, breeds and sizes are welcome.
